With Power And Authority

Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Mark 1:21-22

Explanations:

1.     Jesus has all power and authority in heaven and on earth.

2.     Jesus was punctually attending Sabbath worship. He entered the synagogue (church) immediately it was time for Sabbath.

The Evil Spirit Recognized Jesus As The Son Of God

Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are — the Holy One of God!"

But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!"  And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him." And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee. Mark 1:23-28

Explanations:

1.     The evil spirits recognized and honoured Jesus, by subjecting themselves to His authority.

2.     Humanity should endeavour to open their spiritual eyes, to see the spiritual realties of life.

3.     Even the evil spirits saw Jesus and acknowledged Him as the son of God. The people of God supposed to do better. Many people have met, stayed, spoken or worked with the man who saw God face to face more than seventy (70) without knowing that He is Jesus Christ reincarnated. That is punishable, because it is a great sin too see God without recognizing Him as God. Whoever that does not believe in God or side with Him is siding with Satan.

4.     Christians have the power and authority of Jesus to cast out evil spirits and demons.
